1. Doug not only successfully completed his first triathlon this week, but he did AMAZINGLY well! He finished first in his division (Sophie loves the medal he won) and he placed 8th OVERALL.
2. Our beautiful boy is 2 weeks old. He sleeps well, eats well, dirties his diaper well...so far, he is the easiest of our two children! And he has the most adorable dimple.

...but Sophie does have a "darker" side.
Fortunately, her tantrums and naughty behavior have only been directed toward me and toward Doug (and not her newborn baby brother). But we have seen the highs and lows of toddler behavior this week. Here are some photos to remind me of her wonderful behavior...
"His eyes can twinkle. God made them twinkle."
"Let me teach baby brother to say 'no no no no'."
"These cars drink hot coke." (No, we don't have a toddler-druggie on our hands--she has simply combined hot cocoa and Coke.)
"All these guys are racist. You want to be racist, mommy?" (After much questioning, I realized that her cars were racing. Rest assured, her cars do not discriminate.)
5. Ries has now met all of his grandparents! My mom spent the first week here to help us all out, my dad flew over the night of Ries's birth to meet him (although I was too exhausted to document this with photos), and Doug's parents visited us this past week. Then, we got an extra treat with an afternoon visit again from my dad (which I did document with photos!).
