We have just returned {early} from The Whitfield's 2nd Annual Camping trip to Deadwood Reservoir! A massive forest fire that has been burning Idaho for nearly 2 weeks sent us packing up home a day early. The smoke was not as overwhelming as we thought it may be, but we were surprised by all the ash that drifted in the air and blew onto us! As the winds shifted on Saturday, we opted to pack up our camp and drive home in the evening. Although we were disappointed to cut our trip short, our limited time at Deadwood lived up to all our expectations and memories from last year. I just love this place and made the kids promise me that we will make this a family vacation for decades to come!
