We did something amazingly fun and adventurous this Sunday. We went day camping! After breakfast at home, we drove an hour to Crouch, Idaho and descended upon a campground along the river {still closed for winter}. We set up our small tent, roasted marshmallows over the fire, relaxed in our camping chairs, played horseshoes, fished {and caught nothing}, dug in the dirt and rocks, and roamed around our beautiful surroundings.

Other highlights included: Doug spending far too long trying to get the fire to start (he blames the wood...), the kids eating donuts
and Cheetos
and Oreos
and Lunchables inside their sleeping bags in the tent, Doug and I breaking out our baseball mitts to play catch, Cameron peeing in the forest, and checking one another for ticks. The kids entertained themselves in the tent playing creative, imaginative games, and we had to drag them back home.

We drove away from our day camping experience smelling of campfire smoke and dreaming of our summer camping adventures to come. This was such a fun and easy getaway!
