Doug's quest for the biggest pumpkins continued this year, and he even planned ahead by borrowing my brother's trailer to carry home his treasures. At the pumpkin patch, we ride on a tractor which drops us off to the field. There are no wheelbarrows, no wagons... it is every man, woman, and child for him or herself. Poor Doug and Christopher lugged these massive pumpkins out of the field, hoisted them back on the tractor, and then unloaded them back to carry them to the cashier. Well, one of our prized white pumpkins cracked open and broke when Doug tripped off the trailer... while most of us would have been disappointed but moved on, Doug hopped back on the tractor and returned to the field to find another giant white pumpkin. His hard work paid off. Our front porch looks amazing! The kids and I also found a stash of miniature white pumpkins in a field, so we loaded about 30 of them up in my purse. We don't mess around! Warm donuts, cotton candy, pony and tractor and train rides, petting zoo, and fields to roam... once again, it was a wonderful kick-off to the holiday season!
