Our neighborhood's annual Father-Daughter Dance occurred this weekend. The weekend was busy for us with a multi-family bbq, soccer, a birthday party, bike rides and runs, a concert/date night out with Chris and Ali.... but all of the crazy hustle and bustle seemed to stand still the moment my handsome husband surprised our beautiful daughter with a little wrist corsage.

We joined together with a large group of friends before the dance. The weather has been incredible, so all of the daughters ran around outside in their dresses. The boys then stayed behind with the moms while the dads and daughters left for the celebration. Doug said that he and Sophie danced all night long, only taking breaks to eat more cupcakes. It was a magical evening for Sophie, and Doug and I may have shed some tears seeing our first born seem to grown up! Sophie is such a sensitive, strong, and imaginative little person who is lucky enough to know that she will always have a Daddy who supports and nurtures her.
Here is a short video that Doug took of Sophie dancing. He sent it to me before they came home and Cameron and I must have watched it 10 times as he laughed and laughed, asking "What Gaga do? Gaga song? Gaga and Daddy dance?"

It's been a wonderful spring with two kids who are growing up very quickly.

Teared up reading about the dance! So cute. Also, LOVE the flat trampoline on the ground. I have never seen those before!
