I apologize for the major lapse in blog posts. We are well and happy!
(Happy except for a recent backhanded compliment I received from Sophie: "Mommy, actually you do make dinner better than somebody. You make it better than a seagull.")
Here are the quick updates:
MB came to visit, and both kids loved playing with their grandmother. She enjoyed skiing one afternoon with Sophie (a long dream of hers!) and some more skiing with Doug. She got to spend quite a bit of time lying down on the ground playing with cars and trucks and legos! And Doug and I also snuck in a morning date and an evening date! So fun. Here are some of her photos from the week:
For Spring Break, Sophie spent 5 days with Grandma and Papa in Spokane. Continuing his tradition of taking Sophie on "aventures", Papa really raised the stakes by creating an incredible scavenger hunt that taught Sophie how to properly use a compass and incorporated her love for counting. Papa went to so much work setting up this adventure which included prizes and created life-long memories. Sophie's week was also spent making arts and crafts, playing in the third floor, reading and writing, visiting all of her favorite Spokane spots, and eating and snacking like the Queen Grandma and Papa think she is!! The week was perfect for her and my parents. We just love their sweet relationship.

Doug was out of town while Sophie was in Spokane, so that left Mommy and Cameron. Even though he and I regularly spend A LOT of time together, there was something different about this concentrated and intentional amount of time. I treated it like our Spring Break; we had our own dates around town and did Cam-centered activities. I loved being one on one with my little boy. He is so sweet and tender, and I think he loved being the only one in the house with his momma. He also attended a triple-birthday party for bigger kids, and like the champion he is, Cameron hung with big kids and seemed to actually thrive without big sis there. He cracks me up!
