Today we celebrated Cameron's birthday with a camping themed birthday party. The kids painted wooden snakes, embarked on a scavenger hunt for {plastic} bugs and spiders, dug in the dirt to discover 75 {purchased} worms, ate creepy crawly gummy candies and smores on a stick, and played in the tent in the backyard. It was THE PERFECT birthday party for our little man. He had all of his favorite friends, yummy treats, and outdoor adventures. Cameron felt loved and celebrated all day long; he was appreciative, sweet, hysterical, and adorable. The week had been filled with epic wind, thunder and rainstorms, but for several hours today, it was warm and clear outside so we could host Camp Cameron.
On the eve of his actual birthday, we tucked him into bed with a lot of dirt under his fingernails and sugar running through his veins. He is snuggled into his brand new, orange sleeping bag, with his new flashlight and mini-camping lantern and a new shark toy in bed with him.
Dirt. Candy. Friends. Fresh Air. Sharks. Worms. Trucks. Tents.
